Eastwood Bio-medical Canada and bionexus Sign Joint Research Agreement to Apply AI to Herbal Ingredient Prescription Data
July 2, 2026 – Richmond, British Columbia – Eastwood Bio-Medical Canada Inc. (TSX-V: EBM) (the “Company”) announces the signing of a joint research agreement with BioNexus Inc. to build a platform that applies artificial intelligence to herbal ingredient prescription data in order to identify natural drug and functional food product candidates.
BioNexus Inc. (CEO: Tae-Hyung Kim) is an AI bio-data company based in Suwon, South Korea.
Under the agreement, BioNexus will apply its AI tools to datasets of herbal ingredient prescription records collected by Eastwood and its affiliates, which the companies describe as largely non-digitized and not present in existing databases. The work will begin with a proof-of-concept study on about 250,000 prescriptions related to blood-glucose health, testing whether the data can be analyzed by AI and whether candidate ingredients or combinations can be derived and assessed against external scientific literature. The companies said the data will be jointly owned.
The Company also announces that Ian Mallmann resigned from the Company’s Board of Directors, and the Company thanks him for his contributions.
